Replacement Firebox Panels for Prefabricated Fireplaces

If you continue to burn fires in prefabricated fireplaces that have cracks in the firebox panels in the walls or floor, you are taking chances with your life and the lives of your family. Carbon monoxide is a poisonous gas that, if allowed to seep through the cracks and breaks, it can potentially kill. Unless you have a carbon monoxide monitor in your home, you won’t even know it’s there because it is both odorless and tasteless. The good news is these panels can be removed and replaced. However, because you must follow the standards put out by The National Fire Prevention Association, (NFPA) for safety, you will need to hire a professional and certified chimney company to replace them for you.

How Do I Know a Wall or Floor is Cracked or Broken

Most of the time, we find cracked or broken panels during the annual chimney sweeping and/or inspection. There are times when the make or model is really old and the manufacturer does not support them anymore. Then we have to go out and find panels for our clients for that particular make and model. We work in a very unique industry where we have many colleagues around the country and, more often than not, we can find a replacement firebox panel.

We always ask you to call us first and see what we can do to help you repair the panels in that prefab fireplace before you give up.
